What's the difference between the Optio XP Wireless and standard gas detectors?

The Optio XP is a wireless multi-gas detector that eliminates costly wire installation while providing detection for up to 6 different gases simultaneously. Unlike traditional wired systems, the Optio XP communicates wirelessly to a configured gateway, reducing installation time and costs. It can also connect remote sensors up to 100 feet away, creating a massive coverage area that would typically require multiple separate detectors.

How much does the Optio XP Wireless cost and what makes it a cost-effective option?

The Optio XP starts at $1,321.00 (USD). While the initial cost may seem higher than single-gas detectors, it’s actually more cost-effective because it replaces the need for multiple individual detectors. With up to 6 sensors per unit and the ability to support 32 wireless detectors per gateway, you can create a comprehensive gas detection network without the expense of running cables or installing numerous separate devices.

What target gases can the Optio XP Wireless be used to detect?

The Optio XP can detect a number of toxic and combustible gases, including: Carbon Monoxide (CO), Methane (CH4), Hydrogen (H2), Hydrogen Sulfide (H2S), Nitrogen Dioxide (NO2), Carbon Dioxide (CO2), Oxygen (O2), Chlorine (CL2), Ammonia (NH3), Ozone (O3), Nitric Oxide (NO), Propane (C3H8), Hydrogen Cyanide (HCN), Hydrogen Chloride (HCL), Sulfur Dioxide (SO2), and Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs). Additional gas configurations are available by contacting Conspec sales for specific applications.

How does the wireless network and gateway system work?

The Optio XP uses a wireless network that supports up to 32 detectors per gateway with minimal setup requirements. The gateway provides 4 dry relay contacts and Modbus RTU over RS-485 communications, allowing integration with existing alarm systems and process control equipment. This setup enables automated responses to gas detection events and remote monitoring capabilities across large facilities.
