MULTI-GAS MONITOR FOR LI-ION BATTERY SAFETY​

The Optio BGM is a multi‑gas detector engineered to monitor Li‑ion battery systems for early signs of thermal runaway. The Optio BGM incorporates three dedicated sensors to continuously monitor for carbon dioxide (CO2), hydrogen (H2), and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) to detect batteries which may be venting before visible smoke or flame appears. Onboard relays, 4-20mA outputs, and Modbus communication makes it easy to integrate the Optio BGM with the Primus V Controller as a part of a building’s overall safety solution.

Relay Operations

  • Relay 1 Operation (Factory default)
    • ON when: CO2, H2, or VOC sensor detects a gas level above alarm threshold
    • OFF when: CO2, H2, or VOC sensors are below alarm thresholds
    • Relay 1 has a 5 minute minimum ON duration
  • Relay 2 operation (Factory Default)
    • ON when: VOC sensor is in fault state
    • OFF when: VOC sensor is in normal, non-alarm state
    • Relay 2 has a 5 minute minimum ON duration
