Gas sensors should be mounted based on the target gas’s relative density, potential release source, and airflow patterns. Gases heavier than air should generally be monitored closer to the floor, while lighter-than-air gases should be monitored near the ceiling. Sensor locations should also remain accessible for calibration and replacement and avoid excessive moisture, dust, and vibration.
