Conspec’s next-generation Intrinsically Safe Atmospheric Monitoring System has been designed specifically for coal mines by our ISO 9001:2015 certified design team.

Our new Intrinsically Safe (IS) system meets all IECEx / ATEX GB 60079ia intrinsically safe requirements for methane environments and extends the available current and power in order to deliver the maximum of sensor coverage underground. This will double the available monitoring stations with more than four times the sensors compared to other intrinsically safe atmospheric monitoring system providers on an equivalent network.

Conspec’s IS monitors integrate advanced processor and sensing technologies to deliver ultra-low power consumption and fast, reliable monitoring of toxic and combustible gases, air velocity, temperature, humidity, and barometric pressure. Mines gain broader, more precise coverage using the same available power and current as previous generations of atmospheric monitoring systems.

Battery-powered monitoring options extend network coverage into hard-to-reach or high-risk areas, including room and pillar sections where traditional wired systems cannot operate. A next-generation intrinsically safe cable network further enhances reliability in both power delivery and data communications.

Fully integrated with Conspec’s mine-wide SCADA platform, the system provides dependable alarming, shutdown verification, and emergency response support to protect personnel, minimize infrastructure damage, and ensure operational confidence underground.
