The Red Outstation is a non-permissible communication and control device designed for use in intake air outby the last open crosscut in underground coal mines. It enables remote monitoring and management of connected multi-gas monitors.
Designed to integrate with Optio G and Optio XP gas detectors, the Red Outstation connects to SCADA systems such as Senturion S950, allowing dispatchers to view live underground gas readings and integrate them with centralized monitoring and automation systems.
Configured using Subcon Configuration Software, users can design custom networks, configure six onboard relays, control local strobe and horn alarms, and integrate up to twelve remote Modbus 4–20 mA outputs for applications such as ventilation fan control. The Red Outstation is designed to meet MSHA requirements described in Title 30 CFR, and is approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Labor for use in Pennsylvania coal mines (pending).
