MULTI-GAS MONITOR FOR LI-ION BATTERY SAFETY​

The Optio BGM is a multi‑gas detector engineered to monitor Li‑ion battery systems for early signs of thermal runaway. The Optio BGM incorporates three dedicated sensors to continuously monitor for carbon dioxide (CO₂), hydrogen (H₂), and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) to detect batteries which may be venting before visible smoke or flame appears.

Onboard relays, 4-20mA outputs, and Modbus communication makes it easy to integrate the Optio BGM with the Primus V Controller as a part of a building’s overall safety solution.

Relay Operations

  • Relay 1 Operation (Factory default)
    • ON when: CO2, H2, or VOC sensor detects a gas level above alarm threshold
    • OFF when: CO2, H2, or VOC sensors are below alarm thresholds
    • Relay 1 has a 5 minute minimum ON duration
  • Relay 2 operation (Factory Default)
    • ON when: VOC sensor is in fault state
    • OFF when: VOC sensor is in normal, non-alarm state
    • Relay 2 has a 5 minute minimum ON duration
