The Optio BGM is a stand-alone multi-gas monitor designed to detect the early signs of thermal runaway in battery energy storage systems. Once alarm thresholds are reached, the monitor can engage connected mitigation and notification systems via onboard relays (including fire suppression systems, warning signals) or communicate with a facility’s BAS / BMS via Modbus.
The monitor uses dedicated sensors that continuously monitor for carbon dioxide (CO2), hydrogen (H2), and electrolyte vapors (VOCs) vented by Li-ion batteries before visible smoke or flame appear.
